Established in 1837 in Massachusetts, Lamson takes pride in being the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States. Our name is synonymous with American artistry and carries a distinguished history – in 1869, newly-elected US President Ulysses S. Grant was presented with a 62-piece Lamson dinner set at the White House, and pieces of this extraordinary gift remain on display at the Smithsonian Institution in the nation's capital.
Today, our talented artisans continue to handcraft each piece in western Massachusetts, offering an extensive selection of elegantly functional products, including laser-cut and forged cutlery, kitchen tools, and trade tools. Over the years, we have weathered major world events, difficult financial times, and even a natural disaster that forced us to relocate from our original factory. Through these challenges, our spirit and commitment to American craftsmanship have only grown stronger.
These experiences have inspired a renewed celebration of our heritage – the superior quality, service, and passion for excellence that would make our founders proud. With designs as diverse as the professional and household needs we supply, Lamson products are high-performing and stylish, traditional and innovative. As we move towards a third century in the business we have long exemplified, our mission remains steadfast: to aim for nothing short of American-made perfection.
Experience the care and tradition embodied in our products. If you're looking for an amazingly strong and versatile tool, this is the one for you. As featured by Brad Leone on Bon Appétit's It's Alive, this bad boy is your answer to it all – cut, slice, chop, and trim, it does it all!
Crafted with Tempered 420HC Stainless Steel hardened to 57-58 HRC, the tool features a shaped Walnut handle with a sturdy 3 Brass rivet construction. The full-tang blade, Santoku shape, and flat-ground, hand-sharpened and finished edge ensure precision and razor-sharpness.
To maintain the beauty of your Walnut kitchen tools, we recommend hand-washing in warm soapy water, drying thoroughly with a soft cloth, and applying a light coat of mineral oil every few months. Avoid the dishwasher, as it can damage the Walnut handles.
At Lamson, we are committed to upholding the tradition of American-made excellence that has defined our brand since 1837. Experience the quality and craftsmanship that have made us the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States.
