Lamson Vintage 5-Piece Deluxe Chef's Set

Established in Massachusetts in 1837, Lamson is proud to be the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States. Our name is synonymous with American artistry and carries with it a distinguished history—in 1869 newly-elected US President Ulysses S. Grant was presented a 62-piece Lamson dinner set at the White House. Pieces of this extraordinary gift remain in the nation's capital on display at the Smithsonian Institution.

Today, our talented artisans still handcraft each piece in western Massachusetts—an extensive selection of elegantly functional products, including laser-cut and forged cutlery, kitchen tools and trade tools. Over the years, we have survived major world events, difficult financial times, and even a natural disaster that forced us to relocate from our original factory. Through it all, our spirit and commitment to American craftsmanship has not diminished. The set consists of: Vintage 8" Large Chinese Santoku Cleaver; 8" Vintage Chef's Knife; 6" Vintage Utility Knife; 8" Vintage Bread Knife; 3.5" Vintage Paring Knife; 8" Vintage Bread Knife. The Vintage Series features an updated ergonomically friendly hand-finished stabilized Walnut handle that has a traditional, timeless look and feel. The sleek integrated bolster allows for a traditional or pinch-grip.

Signature craftsmanship. Meticulously crafted, each of our knives is finished to perfection using state-of-the-art technology coupled with hand finishing as well as proprietary polishing and sharpening processes.

Unmatched quality. Blades are formed from proprietary high-carbon stainless steel (Grade 420HC-LAM).

Durable design. Our blades are precision laser-cut and tempered to a hardness of 58 on the Rockwell scale. This results in a hard, wickedly sharp blade that retains an edge for longer and is both highly corrosion-resistant and elastic.

Superior performance. Full tang blades with double brass riveted handles ensure ideal balance and weight. A curved and recessed integrated bolster provides a seamless transition from handle to blade, resulting in comfortable thumb and finger support for better control and safety.
