Lamson, the Oldest Cutlery Manufacturer in the United States, Offers a Fusion of Artistry and Functionality
Established in Massachusetts in 1837, Lamson takes pride in being the oldest cutlery manufacturer in the United States. Our name is synonymous with American artistry and carries a distinguished history - in 1869, newly-elected US President Ulysses S. Grant was presented a 62-piece Lamson dinner set at the White House. Pieces of this extraordinary gift remain on display at the Smithsonian Institution in the nation's capital.
Our knives and kitchen tools are created for both expert chefs and home culinary enthusiasts, offering a fusion of artistry and functionality. Today, our talented artisans still handcraft each piece in western Massachusetts, presenting an extensive selection of elegantly functional products, including laser-cut and forged cutlery, kitchen tools, and trade tools. With designs as diverse as the professional and household needs we supply, Lamson products are at once high-performing and stylish, traditional and innovative.
Signature Craftsmanship and Unmatched Quality
Meticulously crafted, each of our knives is finished to perfection using state-of-the-art technology coupled with hand finishing, as well as proprietary polishing and sharpening processes. Our blades are forged from proprietary high-carbon stainless steel (Grade 420HC-LAM) and come with sleek and sturdy Infused Walnut handles. Precision laser cutting and tempering to a hardness of 58 on the Rockwell scale result in hard, wickedly sharp blades that retain their edge for longer and are highly corrosion resistant and elastic.
Superior Performance and Durable Design
Full tang blades with double brass riveted handles ensure ideal balance and weight, while a curved and recessed integrated bolster provides a seamless transition from handle to blade, resulting in comfortable thumb and finger support for better control and safety.
Care and Maintenance
Walnut Kitchen Knives are not dishwasher safe. Instead, we recommend rinsing and washing them in warm soapy water, drying them thoroughly with a soft cloth, and then storing them properly. To keep the Walnut handles looking their best, we suggest applying a light coat of mineral oil every few months.
As we move toward a third century in a business we've long exemplified, our mission remains steadfast: to aim for nothing short of American-made perfection. Experience the products handcrafted with care and deep-rooted in tradition: Experience Lamson.
